Hi all, I went to malta on the 1st July 20, 2010 for 2 weeks and it was fantastic, they deserve praise so I promised I would spread the word. Enjoy and pm me if you have questions
Malta is a unique and exciting destination, with a large choice of venues, activities and attractions in a close proximity.
The Maltese archipelago is full of fascinating things to see and do. The largest island is also it's best developed and the centre of most activity whilst the smaller islands are known for their breathtaking beauty and village charm. With its unique topography, lovely weather and clear Mediterranean seas, Malta will always attract people to its shores. However, it is the intricate heritage and historical attractions that are a revelation to visitors willing to explore what these splendid sun soaked islands have to offer.
The capital city Valletta is filled with honey-coloured streets and architectural wonders dating back several centuries. Mdina is a rare gem, a medieval walled town situated on a hill in the centre of the island.
The islands provide a stunning backdrop to a variety of activities, from beach soccer and volleyball to diving, rock climbing and mountain biking. The clear sea, sandy and rocky beaches are very popular with the locals, guests and tourists alike. It is therefore not surprising that most activities especially in the summer time are organized by the sea.Malta has a great selection of nightlife options. There are abundant bars, pubs, discos and clubs playing live music or hosting big-name DJs such as Tiesto, Moby and Deadmau5. Established dance music brands include Creamfields, Ministry of Sound and MTV for the busy summer festival months.
Characterized by superb value with most of the numerous discos, pubs and bars offering free entrances and quality beverages at very attractive prices, it is no wonder that everyone make it a point to include a number of nights out when they visit. For those interested in culture, there are traditional feasts, a number of theatres in Valletta and restaurants offering a great selection of local and international cuisine.
I used NSTS who offer a fantastic weekly programme with a mix of activities they can also come up with tailor made individual or group programmes. I strongly recommend them. You can find them at http://www.nsts.org .If you do go there note your experience there too. It's a little piece of paradise :
