Bird House Question

Posted by luis_pr (My Page) on

I have several outdoor bird houses and some of them tend to be visited by mice and critters. A small creek nearby probably is the source of those visitors.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest ways to prevent these critters from taking over the bird houses.

I do not want to close the entrance "holes" and I have made sure that there is no food source that would attract these critters in my property. Not sure what else I could do.

RE: Bird House Question

What you need is a baffle added to the pole. I use 8" stovepipe on all my poles, and have never had anything able to crawl up and through them. There are great instructions and information on the Sialis site.

Here is a link that might be useful: baffle information
