| Last fall I started a project to create a personal photo album of all the species of birds that frequent my yard.
The intent was to create a "Field guide" type photo for each species.
In January I got a nice shot of two American Gold Finches in "Winter Plumage" sitting on the Nyger feeder.
About three days ago I noticed that some of the Finches are showing sign of transitioning from their drab winter plumage to the bright yellow summer "Breeding Plumage". I thought it would be nice to get a shot of them during the transition, followed by the complete change in another month or so.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I might get a shot of two finches in exactly the same pose as I got in January:
Now the challenge will be to see if I can get them again in the summer plumage.
