i have feeders in a tree about 6 foot from the kitchen window and get lots of pictures just sitting or standing by the window and shooting the birds as they come and go.
one day i was outside filling the feeders and a hummingbird was buzzing around me waiting to eat. I went back in and got my point and shoot camera and got back up on a stepladder and started filling feeders again. Got a lots of pictures from a foot or two away holding the camera in one hand and the feeder in the other. Picked up
a pan of mixed seed to fill the seed feeder and a couple chickadees landed in the bowl of seed and took turns grabbing boss from the bowl in my hand and flying off. got more piuctures of them landing on the bowl lip to eat.

DK: Do you have cats in your neighborhood? I am out working or just sitting a lot but the birds don't get quite that tame -- wonder if it could be the prescense of the numerous cats that roam my neighborhood.
