| OK, if this isn't a juvenile Cooper's Hawk I'll eat all of my field guides and switch to watching butterflies.

| Nice pictures. The bird looks like it's molting brown to grey, which makes it a second-year bird, born in 2009. Big feets. |

| Thanks, all. It was nice, for once, to have a clear-cut identification - thanks to the hawk's hanging around and posing, flashing all of the ID tips. Usually I'm scratching my head and fussing over an ambiguous photo. Claire |
