Bluebirds in Tallahassee, Florida

| Hi Everyone!
I am new to the "birding fever" In doing some research I have found that my house sparrows are not nice. So I changed my feed to the "good stuff" they usually don't like to eat.
When I get my income tax check I am going to invest in meal worms and the other foods I've read that the Bluebirds like to eat like crickets and grasshoppers. Along with a Bluebird feeder.
Is anybody here from the northern Florida panhandle?
I haven't seen a Bluebird in about 25 years!!! I must be doing something wrong or just not looking hard enough.
Thanks! |

| While I am no where near the Florida panhandle, I can relate to not seeing them for a long time. I have lived here for 30 years and I never saw my first Bluebird until 3 years ago. Like you I sometimes wonder if I just wasn't looking hard enough. They are so strikingly beautiful, how could I have missed seeing them before? |

I have not been to FLA in years but the central area of the state well inland wildwood FLA... There are a good number of bluebirds,Martins nesting in that area/ farmland helps and the bluebirds avoid developed area's Not sure about Tallahassee but I am sure there are bluebirds around as there are just as common here in RI as FLA and we are well north of that warm climate.
