I know from experience folks in NJ,VA,PA will see a lot less bluebirds this season due to there blizzard. I know a blizzard does major damage to even these northern Blues. I wonder how many of mine were caught in it and perished. I have some good numbers already so that tells me my local flock
has done great. Birds in those southern states are just not condition to those
storms thousands must have perished. And it was cold for days. I emailed
a friend in NJ and told him its not your fault blame mother nature the birds
will recover in a year or two. Just look at it as a nice break. There not much more than can be done at this point.

| I realy don't think it is as bleak a picture as you seem to continualy want to paint. Yes birds die in really bad weather but they also survive our horrid Michigan winters. I really don't think "thousands must have perished" but surley the weak did. They can cover a lot of miles in a short time, finding a few % warmer and less wind with good cover will save most. |
