For the first time ever - a phoebe has been "sharing" the meal worms with my bb's. I currently have a nest with 2 babies (2 eggs didn't hatch)... I believe this is my previous mom but a new dad. He doesn't hang around as much as the other one did and doesn't take the meal worms immediately to the nest. ANYWAY.... the phoebe is swooping down and getting worms. I haven't seen her trying to enter the box but I did see her perched on top of the box (waiting her turn) while the bb's gobbled up worms. They didn't seem upset by her being there. Should I be concerned? Should I try to move the feeder further away from the house? Thanks for your help. I tried the search feature and couldn't find anything indicating that they were a danger to my bb's. I haven't seen the phoebe nest - but they may be in our barn - she up in that direction.

Phoebes pose no threat to your Blues. They are one of my favorite birds.

A very photographic bird. I have one that passes through here each spring and stays for several weeks before moving on. He does like meal worms. Here is a shot.

Awwww what a cutie pie Dave... and thanks Cathy. I'm glad to know they won't harm my little "blues"..... It was just such a shock as I've been feeding my blues meal worms for about 3 years and this is the first time I've seen another bird eating them. I will put out a little extra for the Phoebe and her family..... Cindy
