They Came Back!!! Happy day...

Well, after all that worry my bluebirds have come back! They built a nest and disappeared for 2 days it seemed. Then today 5/19/12 they have come back and have one egg in their nest. This is their second brood. So happy to have them around again. I still am not seeing them around as much as I would like...they have been somewhat elusive.
I set up a sparrow spooker just in case! :)
Thanks for the support and help I received here...

Wonderful news!
I was also worried after loosing a nest of babies.
Daddy bluebird found himself a new mate after disapearing for a few days. Yesterday they were back there, we have a new nest!
Good luck! Isn't it exciting?

Great news! Blues aren't always around alot during the egg laying process. They will come and check things out here and there throughout the day but they are pretty quick and you probably just aren't seeing them. Once mom starts incubating you may see the male a bit more standing watch but he also will feed her so needs to be hunting too. Each pair is different too on how much the male tends to the female. A spooker is always a good thing to put up after the first egg is laid even if you don't think you have HOSP around. Good luck!
