Five New Babies

| The five eggs in the neighbors box hatched today. The baffle and sparrow spooker that we installed on the box while they were on vacation worked! YEAH!
I'm still seeing Papa Blue down here defending my nesting box and eating from the mealworm feeder. He dive-bombed a mail HOSP this morning. Made me nervous to watch. I see Mama less often, but I'm not home all day to watch. |

| Update: The babies are 8 days old now. We put new mylar on the sparrow spooker last weekend because when it rains, the strips stick together. Anyway, my neighbor checked on them yesterday due to extreme temperatures ~ near 90. He said they are all doing fine. Papa divebombed him! We got a kick out of that. Mama and Papa are visiting my mealworm feeder more often now. I had to put worms out there twice today. About how many do you put in the dish at once? Just want to be sure I'm doing things right. Thanks. |
