Cavern/ cave hunting/ camping.

One summer, we took our two kids, a tent, camping gear, etc. and set out to tour Pennsylvania!
We saw that great tourist trap, The Ice Mine at Coudersport, Pa. Then we left there and toured around the state.
One day, we stopped at Indian Echo Caverns.(I think that was the name.) I can't remember where it was in Pa. While there we were told we could camp in their camp ground, so, being it was almost time for supper, we decided to spend the night there.
Well, we waited expectantly for other campers to arrive, but nobody did!
The camp was off in a field, with one pit toilet for all the campers. After dark, the only light was one tiny bulb in the toilet, and ours! The folks at the caverns had told us spooky stories about how the ghosts of the Indians still wandered about in the night! Kinda scared our kids. And, they told us how they would fire off cannons at night to scare off the Indian ghosts!
Sure enough, just about dark, off went the loud booms, and the kids jumped into the tent and hid! Well, next morning, when leaving, i found the source of the booms! There were 2 large steel doors that would be closed at dark, to keep out any adventurous folk who might want to explore the cave!
We had other adventures, but that one sticks in my mind as being more fun than some others!
