Say, i've drawn up plans for a portable camp kitchen box. I built one years ago, and it works quite well. Any body interested? There's no charge for the plans!

Rusty, if you're not selling the plans, than you can legally distribute them to others. The plans don't "belong" to anyone, unless you're receiving income from them. You're simply sharing them.

RE: Too Funny!!! Camp kitchen

Hi Rusty - Just had to let you know I enjoyed your thread...Lord were you POPULAR!! I loved your last posting and have to congratulate you on being so patient with all the requests you received!! STOP ALREADY!!! Toooo Funny!! Bless you for making many people happy though. Hopefully many of them made your box. Wish I had been one of your first requestor's since I participate in Mt. Man Rendezvous and am trying to find the perfect plans for a kitchen camp box. The internet is a wonderful tool though and I'm sure I'll find the perfect one sooner or later. Just wanted to tell you I enjoyed your Camp Kitchen thread though. Take care!!

RE: Camp kitchen

BPGma, Haven't been to this forum in quite a while and to see this post right off was funny. My husband and I were at a rendezvous 6/6-7 in So. IL and it was the first time out for our new "patrol box" as we call the cook boxes in scouting. I can find out where the plans for it came from as my husband and his buddy built it for me. It is just beautiful. Almost too pretty to take camping--made from Cyprus. He wants to keep it in the family room between campouts, but I think that is a bit much.

RE: Camp kitchen

NOTE: I AM NOT SENDING ANY MORE PLANS!!! PERIOD!!!
By: rustyj14

 o
RE: Camp kitchen

rustyj14, it's too bad you didn't charge for your plans!

 o
RE: Camp kitchen

Yeah, Becky, i thought about that, too! For a while, i did charge a dollar for postage, to send them snail mail, as my computer didn't want to work right in the "send" department. Well, i posted recently that i wasn't sending any more plans out, and i haven't had any more requests.
That said--have you done any camping this summer? Gone on any trips? Or just camped in your back yard?
I was out on Father's day weekend, to our bluegrass Music park, and about 15 miles up the hiway to a friends' pig roast weekend, to help with the getting ready of the shelters, etc., and i hope to go again, the weekend after Labor day, to go bluegrassin again.
I had to give the motor home a really good clean out, as the mice had made it their vacation home! I think i got them all, as i haven't seen any signs of them so far.
I've tried to sell it, but haven't had any real "bites" yet. And, the way our new President and his cohorts are talking, i might have to live in it!
My wife doesn't go with me any more. She's on oxygen, from many years of smoking, and can't be away for very long, as she has to use her breathing machine a lot, and it runs on house current, which our bluegrass park doesn't have. Cell phones really help, so she can call me to come home if need be.
Good to hear from you, Becky! I thought all of the old regulars had dropped out of here. Stay well, and keep the faith!
Yours: Rusty Jones

RE: Camp kitchen

Hey Rusty, We are packed and ready to go on the motorcycle for a ride yesterday (Friday)when a friend we don't see often came over. He was here about two hours, so we would have gotten a pretty late start for where we planned to put up for the night. We decided we would make it a day trip and woke up to a big rain and where we were going was bad weather, too. So, our ride was off. The bad thing is the very same thing happened last weekend. This time I am not unpacking! I will just unroll the Therma-rests and shake out the sleeping bags. Everything else we pack in a tank bag and it is not much. I have a little butane camp stove and a tea pot for the morning and we eat out when we are on the bike. As far as other camping we go to rendezvous a few times a year and camp in our tipi. That is a lot of fun and of course that is definitely campfire cooking, which I love. I have about 17 tents (not really), but I do have a lot. My husband seems to collect sleeping bags. I didn't make BSA scout camp as I was sick and had to have a stress test because of the illness. After all the rain and heat they had I think I am glad I was home! Maybe this month will be better for camping than the last 2 weekends have been.
Wish your wife could hang out with you more. I'm sure that takes the fun away.
Becky

 o
RE: Camp kitchen

Please can I have a copy of your camp kitchen plans. Thanks

 o
RE: Camp kitchen

Hey, Becky: How are you getting along? Have you overcome the illness? Got any plans for 2010? I got out twice last year. Went to our winter Blues Bluegrass festival, stayed in the motel all weekend. Played the banjo until my fingers got too limp to play any more!
Ruth went in yesterday for the Specialist to peer down her throat. Didn't find any toys lodged in there, or clock parts! She can swaller some things, and Dr. sez it isn't blocked, so i'm not sure where it will all end. She can eat her scratchy cereal, but not soft things. Worry, worry.
I wish this site could drop those out-dated posts. Things are getting too long!
Well, here's to more camping, although, if they tax us any more, i'll be living in a tent, too!
So, keep well. I check in here occasionally. by: Rusty Jones

 o
RE: Camp kitchen

Hi Rusty Jones, I happened to take a look on the page and saw you'd been here too. I am doing fine. Thanks for asking. It sounds like your wife is having a hard time though. I hope she gets better soon. I have not been camping this winter, but my daughter and two of her girlfriends camped in Alabama a month ago during the snowstorm. I was so proud of them!! The girls set up in 2 feet of snow and then two more inches fell. She said their cooler froze solid. They didn't know they were going into that much snow, but it was good experience.

The Scouts are going to the Boundary Waters this summer. I will pass on that trip. I like moving water better than paddling all day. Really though, we have plans for the first 4 days they will be gone.

Maybe you could contact the webmaster to get this camp kitchen post dropped. That could end some of the garbage you keep getting.

talk to you later.
Becky

 o
RE: Camp kitchen

Hi, Becky: Thanks for your reply! And, i must say--my wife is doing much better. She had to have her esophagus stretched, because she couldn't swallow any chewable food! This happens a lot to folks who have smoked for many years, plus Ibuprofen in Aspirin has some of the same effect on the throat!. with her being on aspirin, that affected her swallowing, too.
now, she has regained her good outlook on life, and is getting out more, to grocery shopping and other things.
I still have the motor home, and i may get it out some this summer. the bluegrass Festivals are springing up like wild grass, and i'll feel more like going away for a weekend.
Good to hear from you: Thanks. Rusty Jones

 o

Thanks so much.

 o
RE: Camp kitchen

Can you please send me a copy of your camp kitchen plans? My email is joseph.saylor@comcast.net. Thank you!

 o
RE: Camp kitchen

Rusty, hope your family issues are improving.

Just a suggestion: Why not put your plans on a free website and then you wouldn't have everyone contacting you about it. I understand how much hassle it is and you were generous to offer it to the people you did give them to. If you wanted, I'd put it up on a site, you'd get full credit for it and people could get it from there.

Just an idea.

Hope all is well with you and yours.
