campground suggestions Lake George, NY?

| Does anyone have recommendations for a nice family campground (not an RV park per se) in the Lake George area? We have a 24' travel trailer and would prefer something with some trees, water and electric hook-ups, and a dump station. We'd prefer something quiet but near things to do with a 12 year-old. Thanks. |

| I've camped up by Lake George a few times. I've stayed at (2) state parks - one is Lake Luzerne and the other is Moreau Lake. Both are within a 15 to 20 minute drive from Lake George. Far enough away from the tourist hustle around Lake George, but also far enough away that you can enjoy some Adirondack camping. Not sure about the trailer or electric accomodations at the parks (we tent), but I'm sure they have some. When we went up that way, I also had my son with us who was about your son's age. Always had a good time. Lot's to do in and around Lake George. |
