| I got my newer van a really good 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan but the trip has been postponed till next June. Some things here at home require my attention. What the heck it's only a few months. Steve in Baltimore County |

Yeah, and that gives ya more time to gather more money to pay for the gasoline you'll need for the trip! 4 of us drove to LA and back, were gone a month, new car, each took $200,saw everything there was to see, all the tourist things, wandered all over the West, visited friends and relatives, finally got home, and had money left over! Gasoline was .10 to .15 cents per gallon, an attendant put it in the tank, always got the windshield cleaned, the oil checked, and a smile and a "thank you" for our business! So, save yer gold--by the time you decide to go, gas will be $4.00/gallon, or more. My motor home doesn't go very far any more! Ten MPG isn't very interesting when long trips are planned-which they aren't, any more! Last trip i took--62 miles one way, took $50 in gas. Had a little left upon returning home, but not much. |

| Keep voting Democrat, siding with the environmentalists against offshore drilling, and sending your oil $$$ to terrorist nations and it'll be $ 5.00 / gallon. No worry, Cuba has a deal to slant-drill our oil 45 miles off the Florida coast and sell it back to us. Neat, huh? Grand Caravan is a great buy. Just back from a 2000-mile one-week trip up to NorCal Mendocino area using a 2006 rental minivan from Fox: 9 days, $ 295.00. Got 19-21 mpg on the open freeways, not bad considering 4 people, gear and firewood! |

| I'm just a little curious, with the Republicans in control of the Presidency, Senate and House...about how you could blame this all on the Democrats sending money to the terrorists. But mostly, I'm aghast that you would use a collegial camping forum for partisan political attacks. |

| Well, when I go camping, I burn gasoline to get there. When congress votes, I look at who's voting to stop the refineries, stop the offshore drilling, stop ANWR drilling, raise the taxes, and jack up the price my family pays. It wouldn't matter if it were the Green party voting to "grow our own", they'd get my vote!!! |

To: oscarthecat: Yep, quite a while back! 1947! My Uncle Sam bought me a brand new car, so off we went! (He gave a new car to every leg amputee who served in other countries) And, some have sore noses, too, eh? to: brianh va: Oh, for pete's sake! to: tplife: right on, brother. The environmentalists will have us all in the poor house soon! |

| Rusty, I missed WW11 by a couple of years. I know this is a little late but thanks from me for losing that leg. It was worth it. Steve in Baltimore County |
