Best Cabin Tent?

We currently have a 12' x 12' Eddie Bauer dome tent that is just two small for our family of 4. The main reason it is to small is because of the design, that being a dome tent where it is 6' high in just the center of the tent.

We would like to get a cabin style tent that is around 15' x 12', 16' x 10' etc. We probably wouldn't want anything bigger that 16'

What is the best cabin tent in these demenssion that is less that $350.

Thanks,
JJ

How high does it have to be?

I think we would like to get a tent that is at least 74" high.

Check out the Eureka self supporting, free standing tents. You can set them up without staking, just remember to put the top cover on first, or tip the tent side to side to put it on. We just gave our daughter the Headquarters tent, for she and her husband and their 2 small children. Great design, tall straight sides and on sale on the Eureka outlet site.

... but definitely stake down the tent. Free-standing tents that are not staked down are dangerous in even moderate wind.

I'll always recommend Eureka tents. I have a Eureak Lodge (discontinued I think). It is VERY well made and easy to put up. The price is a little higher (maybe a lot more than cheap tents), but what is the price of waking up in a puddle with everything you own soaked from a hard rain on a leaky tent?

I've noticed a lot of cheap tents covered by an odd assortment of blue tarps obviously strung in an attempt to keep them from leaking. Yuk!
