Spacious camping near Dallas?

| We're looking to go camping for the weekend somewhere near Dallas (3-4 hour drive tops). Most of the parks have campsites practically on top of each other. We're not serious campers so we're not up for long 5 mile hikes with huge backpacks. Is there any state park or other location anyone can recommend that is in this area where the tent campsites are spaced out fairly far apart but still reasonably close to the parking? (Or possibly you can drive your car in to the spot). Doesn't have to have running water/electricity. Thanks in advance for any tips! |
