| Dale,
Sorry if some of us don't post often enough. I'm sure I'm among the many that hope this forum doesn't go away. I have found many useful tips here and have posted a few things I thought might help others.
My kids are 18 and almost 17 which aren't the ideal ages for camping. I still make them go with me for spring break and a couple other special occasions, but I'm (kind-of) looking forward to being able to go whenever I want and not worrying about their schedules.DH thinks that camping without full hookups, including cable tv, is really roughing it. My girls are fine with wherever I drag them and no matter how few ammenities there are. It's just getting hard to fit in any time away with their work schedules.
Meanwhile, we've been replacing the roof on the trailer we bought last summer (doesn't leak,HAHA). I've been reading the stuff on teardrop campers, and dreaming but, I'm also still dreaming about an Apache (hard side, pop-up)trailer.
Guess I'll have to keep asking Santa. I'm pretty sure I'll still be in my cozy tent next year. Oh well, we still feel totally at home in the tent so I'll see you all on the OR and WA coast, sometime in the next year. |

| Well, the people who run this site went and hid the place where we could access the "Camping" forum! It took me some amount of hunting to finally find it! Gee, why don't they quit trying to mess up a good forum! I think they scared off "rustipup"! Sure hate to see him disappear from the forum! Some of the "pop-ups" in the tractor and mower forums are making the posters mad! But, if ya send in a donation, they leave ya alone, mostly! I think an Apache hard side trailer would be the kind to get. We had several in our camping club when they first came out, and folks liked them. We had a Nimrod soft-side with hard top, which worked out o.k. too! Except, camping in N.Carolina, in bear country, sort of gave me the willies at night, but old Stoney, the Indian camp owner, said his bear dog would scare any bears off! The tear drop trailer only sleeps 2 comfy, but 4 would be tight, and ya can't get dressed easily inside--in fact, ya have to step outside to change yer mind! A small extension room can be installed on one door, so one could step outside to get dressed--if ya can't understand how it works, just try getting dressed at home, in bed, don't put yer feet on the floor! You'll come out of the bedroom looking like ya had wrassled with a bear! I know, my boss had one, and we took it to Canada for a week to fish! It had a kitchen on the back that was fine if it didn't rain, but, it rained every day on that trip! Merry Christmas to all! From Rusty Jones |

| This forums is close to impossible to find! I stumbled across it on a google search, and had to bookmark it to find it again. Kind of a shame, seems like someones trying to kill it or something! We have a 1987 (?) Sunlighter Sable that's a hard side pop-up, hopefully we can find someone to buy the thing as we just stepped up to a motorhome! Pop-ups are way more fun than a tent! |

The previous post made me laugh!! I'm trying to find somebody who would be willing to trade a pop-up trailer for my motor home! It runs great, but the price of gasoline is making it tough for me to go very far with it, since i'm retired and living on my Government disability check, plus whatever i find laying on the street!
