No-See-Ums in Washington?
| | |
Posted by fooltergeist (My Page) on Fri, Mar 7, 08 at 12:04
| I live in Manassas, VA near Washington, DC and I am going to screen my porch with a choice of mosquito netting at 260 holes/sq. in. mesh or no-see-um netting at 800/sq. in. holes mesh. I really prefer the mosquito netting because it has better visibility and airflow, but am concerned about the ability of flying insects like the no-see-ums to penetrate the normal screen and bite us.
My question then is: are there no-see-um insects in and around my hometown of Manassas, VA? Will the mosquito net have small enough holes to block other tiny insects like midges as well?
Thanks for any info. |

| I don't know if this will help, but we were camping in the other Washington,(state) & in the middle of the nite we were attacked by no-see-ums that came right through our window screens. (that's when we realized why we were the only ones camping this beautiful spot) So whatever net you use has got to be smaller than camper screen. |
