Mason Bee?

I live in El Cajon, CA. I have a flourishing raised garden setup that will soon be
irrigated with a 300 gallon rain water system with automatic fill: float valves and water level sensors.

I have flowering herbs near my chain link fence. Next my flowering Arugula I have a purchased Mason Bee House. I placed one cocoon tube in the reed housing tubes a few months ago. There appears to be a change in the tube on close observation-breaking away of the mud encasement. The bees I see right next to the Mason Bee House, on the Arugula seem smaller than the honey bee.

I found a dead bee in vicinity of the bee house. I will upload same.

Can anyone familiar with Mason Bees confirm if the uploaded bee is a Mason Bee.

I have added three more tubes to the house today.

The image is a tad small to be certain.

To be a mason bee, it should be a glossy blue black -- come call it black -- and have two pair of wings. No gold or yellow at all.

Hard to tell from looking at the belly only and not the back but....to me that looks like a honey bee.
