possible root maggot?

| Can someone help me ID this or point me to a site that will help? It's a small (3/8" at the most) clear little worm, with a slightly squiggly brown stripe inside it and (if I remember correctly) a small black dot at its head. It and a friend were hanging out just below the surface of the soil right next to one of my basil seedlings. I've already been to a few pest ID pages but none had what I saw. The closet thing seems to be a root maggot, but I'm still not sure that's what it is. Do root maggots like basil? And the thing was clear; I could see right through it. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated :-) |
