We found this incect on outside of our house. Do you have any ideas what it may be? Is it harmful??? I thought it might be a mayfly, but mayflys seem to have splits on the tail, this one just has one long tail. It is about 3-4 inches long. Thank you. Rhonda

It is an ichneumon wasp. They won't bother you, but they are predatory.
