I.D. an insect found in Russia?

My friend, who lives in Sochi, Russia, a sub-tropical region near the Black Sea, has these bugs all over her garden. She reports that they are 3/8 of an inch long.

She did not tell me whether she noted any damage from them, I'm trying to find that out.

They remind me of a boxelder bug.

Thanks in advance

I think it's Pyrrhocoris apterus, commonly known as the Firebug. It has been recently discovered in the US, in Utah.
