ID Pleaz, A Diptera?

Seems to like hanging around my cucurbit vines. The wings have interesting white markings that make them appear to be in sections from a distance.

| I'd say the wingspan is maybe 0.5". I found thier food source the other day. I saw 3 of them indulging on some bird poo that landed on a leave. They seem to be one of the most common insects I see in my garden nowadays. |
