What kind of beetle is this?

Does it bite? I was going to remove it from the flower but was afraid it would bite me

It's a longhorn beetle of some sort,but it's not a good enough pic for me to ID it - could you get one from the top? Some longhorns can bite, but they are primarily vegetarian, so you should be able to pick it up. Longhorns are wood borers, so they can be destructive to plants - see the posts on Prionus, below.
