Mantis eggs

I found a mantis eggcase in April. When should I expect it to hatch out in NE Ohio? My hollyhocks are already starting to get skeletonized and I need the mantises!!
I don't want to use insecticides, but every year my hollyhocks get the leaves eaten completely off so they are just stems and flowers.

I feel sure that you have the hollyhock sawfly, the most infamous skeletonizer of this plant. I SURE as heck wouldn't rely on mantids to help you with this! Mix up a small batch of insecticidal soap and get to work on those darned things. You can also hand pick them and toss them into the lawn for the birds to eat.

Rhizo,
Thanks! That is exactly what they are. I guess I better get some insecticides soon; those little suckers work fast!
