Can someone please tell me the species of this wasp or hornet. We have a nest around my area, and they look like this and are wasps we believe, but are not vicious at all. They have landed on us and we have swatted them and they dont get angry it seems. Kinda curious as to what these things are. Ill leave a url for the picture of these insects down below.

Do you have any idea where the nest is? Can you take a picture?

nope not a clue. Its at my work in an old lighthouse so it could be anywhere. We get a lot of them inside though, and they seem harmless considering the amount of them we have had to swatted, and how none of them have fought back. We though they were some kind of flying ant at first, but then when i looked them up or tried to find them i came across that picture, and now i believe they are some kind of wasp maybe.

found out what it was after some research. They are black and yellow mud daubers. This explains why they have not stung anyone. thanks for the help!
