Like stinkbug, but with heavy forearms

I found a bug in the garden on my spearmint yesterday. Unfortunately, all my pictures came out poorly. This was a green and brown shield-shaped bug. The difference vs a stink bug is it's first 2 legs had heavy forarms, the last segment of which was very thin. So, the description of its first set of legs, starting at the body is: thin segment, thick segment (like praying mantis), ending in a very thin segment.

It reminded me of a praying mantis and I wondered if it was a hunter bug. All the pics of stink bugs showed all their legs were the same size.

Can anyone guess what this bug was? Its possible food were many green bottle flies and many types of wasps, large and small, all over the mint flowers.

Looks like this was some type of ambush bug, family phymatidae. Link below.
