| Hi all, I thought I posted earlier. I can't find it, so maybe I forgot to press submit.
I have been enjoying the tiger swallowtail butterflies in my garden. Today I noticed that one of them has a good chunk of wing missing. Will this prevent that butterfly from migrating this winter? Will it die instead? Thanks for any info you can give.

| I don't believe that the Tiger Swallowtail is one of the many species that typically commit to a mass migration. Most butterflies and moths have a very short time gracing our gardens. Their primary goal is to mate and leave progeny. |

| thank you, Rhizo, I spent some time reading about the different ages and stages of butterflies. How sad for them that their lives are so short but of course you are right, they do what they have to do and then die without the complicated emotions of humans! Nature is quite amazing. thanks for taking the time to answer. |
