large fly? bee? or small winged zebra? pic please help id

These guys are everywhere mostly in my 9'x10' plastic greenhouse thing. I wonder if they may be the caterpillar stealing culprit...someone is stealing them and I had to bring them all inside. Please assist in IDing this guy. I live in Butte Montana and they are about an inch long (seriously)

I believe it is a hover fly.

Thanks ..I looked both up and found a site that said this "However, from its wing vein, we are sure it is a Bee Fly belongs to Family Bombyliidae" aboput a guy that looked similar. Since they both look similar..i think its a bee fly. i hope they arent stealing my caterpillars... Have a great day...
