 o
Spider ID please!

Hi there.

I'd like some help ID'ing a spider that I found at the edge of my covered porch this afternoon. It wasn't there last night.

I live in central Oklahoma, if that helps. Oh, and it might be hard to tell, but the spider is quite large. I'd say the body is about the size of the first joint on my thumb (if that makes sense).

The last picture isn't a great one of the spider, but you can see the web really well, so I thought that might help too.

Thanks in advance!

Thinkin' just a regular old Barn or Cross spider, either. Orbweavers a plenty this year, always spinning webs in the most likely places to zap ya when you come in at night.

Any info you can give me on this one? Is it a safe spider?

Here's a site with tons of Orbweavers. I'd say safe, just a bit creepy when you get zapped by their webs at night, but they're gone by morning and alot less bugs.

Here is a link that might be useful: Orbweavers
