Help with bug ID

I found a worm like bug in my yard and was wondering if anyone knew what it it...I tried to post pics but they are too big so I will try to describe it. It's about 2 inches long with a rather large head, has sections kind of like on a catepillar and stumpy like legs(very small) 2 eyes on top of his head that dont move and look almost like they were painted on. He is green/grey in color with blue and yellow spots on his body. His large head appears to have a mouth and when I poked him some tiny orange straw like protrusions came out of his mouth. I think it might be a slug or grub of some sort but I have no idea...any thoughts? I wish I could get pics up, he is very creapy looking.

Yes that is it, looks like he will be a beautiful butterfly one day! Very cool, thanks.
