| Sorry, no picture. Well I did take a couple with my phone but they are too blurry. I believe it's a beetle. Looking at my pic here is a list of characteristics
1) Approx. 3/4" in lenght, maybe up to 1/4" in width
2) Black or extreme dark brown body background
3) Roughly 5 or 6 thin, very bright yellow strips that start at the top of the head and continue back to it's shoulders(? - Sorry I don't know bug anatomy). These are spaced quite close together and seem to circle horizontally from the top to the shoulders.
4) After these strips appears what looks like a stripe in a shape of a 'W'. Next are two more strips sort of ziz zagged, then what looks like the last strip in the shape of an 'M'. All Strips are very bright yellow and run horizontally.
5) Antenna are about 1/2" long
6) Has wings, which I think are under a shell.
It's quite pretty and I found it on a hardy hibiscus leaf. The other plants in the immediate vicinity are tomatos, zuc's. shrubs (sambuscus, kalmia, holly, weigela and others) and perennials.
I know a picture would be best but I don't have a camera. If you can identify by this description I would appreciate any information you can provide. Good/Bad bug, what is it's dinning preference and if bad best way to terminate it.
TIA
