ID this spider please

| I have never seen such a spider like this before. Forgive me for the bad photo. This spider is the size of a 50 cent piece. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

| Common Black and Yellow Garden Spider (Argiope). They are wonderful to have in the garden...harmless to you...they usually remain visible (non- hiding) and stay out of your way. I have tons of them (protect them as much as possible) and I have never had one enter my house. They like our garden areas because that is were all of their food is... |

| Oh yeah and they are sooo cool! We find a lot of them here in the early fall... I love the zigzag pattern in the web! |
