what kind of spider is this?

| Found this guy (or girl) this morning as I was picking tomatoes. It's about 3 inches long and has a beautiful web. It was still there tonight when I came home from work. Can anyone tell me what kind it is and if it is aggressive....bite? I don't want to kill it but I usually have a pretty bad reaction to spider bites. Thanks.

| A spider bites as a defensive move. They're not aggressive. That is, it won't try to bite unless you get pushy. That said, you have one of the orb weavers, a large showy gal called golden argiope. |
