What is this? strange eggs hanging under leaf

Found these egg capsules under a Hibiscus leaf. I've never seen these before. Does anyone know which insect makes this type of egg style?

I've never seen eggs like that, but I'd put then in a well-ventilated container, keep them at room temperature, and see what hatches out! At least you know what to feed them.

lol these eggs are very hard to identify, even for professionals. I sent the picture to a bug expert, and even he was unable to identify the eggs. He suggested I take them to a county office and see if anyone there recognizes them. I thought maybe tree frog or toad (alot of each hang around here), but those eggs are usually moist if I recall correctly.

I put them in a container in room temperature to see what hatches. After a closer look on the same plant, I found a few more leaves with the same kind of eggs and included them in the container too.

Be SURE to let us see what they look like upon hatching! I have no idea what to expect.

they hatched today! They look like some type of catepillar? Still not sure of the species yet, any thoughts?

I don't recognize them. Are they eating the hibiscus?

Hello cindy, so far today I don't see any chew marks on the hibiscus leaves in the jar. They just crawl around, like they're searching for food. I'm sampling with some other plant material from our yard to see what they like. Been searching around for softer leaves, because I think the hibiscus leaves are too tough for them to eat right now.

I will post more pictures as they get bigger

AH HAH! After googling some more, I figured out what these are! These are Polyphemus Moth larvae

The following link shows exactly what I have, same eggs, same larvae....beautiful moth.

CASE CLOSED =)

Here is a link that might be useful: Polyphemus Moth

Yay! Congratulations on the hatch and the ID. I should have known what those eggs were, but having them all stacked up like that threw me! Be sure to post back to the 'bug expert' you contacted. We all like to be educated.
