I saw this little guy in my living room and I have no idea what it is. I live in Southern Vermont on a remote mountain in a small village with few neighbors. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

not a domestic type ferret, but there are wild species in the u.s. could be a mink or some member weasel family

Sure looks like a weasel, to me, too. Have you been having a rodent problem on or near your property? That's what this little guy would be searching for.

RE: Unknown Animal

Definitely NOT a mink (Mustela vison) or a ferret...that is a Long-tailed Weasel (Mustela frenata). Very very cool!

They are excellent mousers and become very accustomed to human presence - kind of like having a wild, self-sufficient pet that you an offer a can of high-quality cat or dog food every now and then.

....Jealous....
