Manual settings....Photo Experiment...

Wanted to share what I learned with manual settings...I took a day and became familiar with it...I delved into it the whole day...
I've been trying to good colors of the portulacas they would come blown out but today...
This is from my garden...I was out shooting flowers when I noticed a portulaca (aka moss rose) laying across rock...
In Shade
40S F5 setting

I took several others, too of the same scene but put a limit on myself, I can get carried away posting pics...

No editing whatsoever! I had great fun....

Pretty! I think I like the second one best. Who'da thunk it'd make such a huge difference?! I went down to the coast today and wanted to stay for hours taking pics of the birds and boats, but didn't have nearly enough time. I've noticed the file sizes are larger, but I reckon I can live with that. 8-]
