Hawk question, please
| | |
Posted by altorama (My Page) on Sun, Aug 1, 10 at 0:45
For the past two days there has been a very large hawk (red tailed I think) sitting in the tree screaming-even people walking down the street stop to see what it is.
I'm just wondering, as are my kids, is it a mating call?
We hope he comes back, we're in Boston, how long do they
usually hang around?
Thanks!

| My guess would be it's a young bird crying to be fed. -O- |

| I agree, we had a nest of red-tailed hawks that did a LOT of screaming to be fed. They continue until they learn to fly well and then they are gone......:-( |

Oh, too bad, I was hoping they'd hang around for a while! Thank you! |
