Red-tailed Hawk

Haven't been over to this forum yet but since I saw and took a pic of a hawk this morning on my walk, I thought I would share it with you. It let me get pretty close before it flew away. Maybe it was eyeing up the two small dogs I had with me. LOL!!

RE: Red-tailed Hawk

Hi Donna, it's beautiful! Great picture and I'm sure everyone on here will love it. I've been over here quite a bit. Believe it or not, raptors are what first got me interested in birding altogether. (5+ yrs ago) I'm a member and volunteer of Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, which is in Kempton, PA and every year at this time I trek up there on the weekends to watch the migrating raptors and songbirds. This past Saturday I saw 17 bald eagles up there!

Thanks Bonkers!! I really do like Hawks too, just wish they would stick to eating morning doves (at least the Coopers and Sharp Shinned)LOL! Bald eagles are so cool, I don't see them very often.
