Hawks eating pond fish

| I saw a hawk land on the edge of my pond and eye up my fish, and then it swooped over the top of the pond skimming it with his talons. Fortunately, it is Winter and the fish are near the bottom of the pond. The hawk landed on the other side of the pond and shook his feet as if he didn't like getting them wet. This is not the first time that I saw a hawk sitting by the pond. |

| I guess it is trying to catch a fish dinner. I know bald eagles and osprey eat fish but didn't know hawks might also eat fish. I guess if they could catch one they would eat it. Richard |
