If you look really close, you will notice that the snake in question has a red tongue, and the color of the body is mostly orange, with orange irises to the eyes. This variant is called "Everglades Rat Snake. You are very fortunate to have seen one of these. They can be rather expensive in the pet trade (captive reared, hopefully).
