| Hey all!
I was out with my sons Cub Scout Pack yesterday, and we were walking through the woods to a creek for them to fish. On the way we saw a small snake, about 12" in length, taupe in color with tiny black spots seemingly all over the body. The other scout leader said the eyes were round, I didn't get to see the head.
Any guesses what it may have been? We were near the Neshaminy Creek in eastern PA just north of Phila.

| Hm, this will be a challenge. I'm guessing adult Brown Snake, or a newly born anything else. Can you draw a picture showing the spot distribution (in a row pattern or random), any lines/stripes? |

| probably a northern water snake |

| Judging by location and time of year, my money is on the brown snake. I haven't seen any water snakes out yet and they have large blotches more than small spots. A mud stained garter snake is also a posibility. Ziggy |
