Garter snake?

| Hi! My friend saw this in his garden, we're not sure what kind it is. Some say it's a garter snake but my hubby says it's not. Can anyone tell me what kind of snake is this and if it's venomous? My friend lives in Wyoming. Thank you.

Hi - it definitely is a garter snake - not sure which species, but probably a Plains garter snake. Perfectly harmless. Hope this helps!

| Garter snake, not venomous. The only venomous snakes in Wyoming are Prairie rattlers. |
