Toad Eggs Toxic?

I have had a toad around my small pond for a few weeks. It mated, and strings of eggs showed up wound into the lotus a few days ago. The next day I had 3 dead goldfish in the pond. The day after that, another died. I drained the pond and rinsed the lotus well, putting the two remaining fish into a large bucket.

The toad and mate returned after I reassembled the pond. Last night they laid more eggs. The two fish left in the pond were frantically darting and racing around the pond. I netted them out and they seem to be alright now.

I have no desire to kill the toads, but I would like to make my pond an undesirable place to lay their eggs. Is there something I can do to make them go elsewhere?
