Lizards- Yard pet

Have quit a few running around our house, we see them as our yard pets. We buy the tubs of small meal worm from Pet Smart empty them into a 2 gal bucket (easier to carry) to walk around the yard and feed them. They’re so funny; they keep an eye on you as you move around the yard, at times they’ll get right up around your feet as to say hello food dude I’m down here. To draw them in closer we’ll tap or finger tips on the ground, boy they come running, they’ll eat them right out of your fingers. Each one eats about 5. They have us trained. Found another hatching, this batch we found 7 babies. This is our 3rd batch this year. Always wondered how long they live.
Happy trails all

thanks for the idea! 'my' lizards hide most of the time because of the dogs, but in the pond garden the dogs are fenced out so i am going to try this in there. i want to be a food dude for them too. i have never found any places where the lizards hatch - how do you know where to look? min |

I’ve find them in sand or dirt up against walk ways, walls and under bricks. It’s funny to watch them burrow in, they kick out the dirt with they’re back legs, at times all you’ll see is a tail and dirt flicking out of the hole. If I can, I’ll post a few pictures, kind a cool right now but it’ll warm up. The little 7 are eating well and getting bigger Mary Ann, I believe they’re called fence lizards, Blue Bellies really, I couldn’t find much information about them. Robert |

| I just posted and was advised that maybe you, Robert, could help me with how to get a lizard out from under my stove ( see post). I can help you with the pics if you do what I do: Get a free Picasa account from Google.com. Once you have downloaded and installed the software, to to web gallery. Upload pics of your choice into the web gallery and name it whatever you want. Click on the "view online" button, and copy the URL. Paste it into the field in your forum post called "Optional link URL" and then name it whatever you want. It a lot easier than it sounds. -Susan |
