Sirens and Amphiumas

Hey All,

I'd like to spend some time looking for Sirens and Amphiumas. I was hoping for some tips on capturing and/or trapping them also any information on their habits and habitat would be very useful. I've herd that I may be able to net a siren by blindly dredging thru the ditches they inhabit? For the Amphiuma I was thinking about setting out minnow traps overnight but I'm not sure about depth, bait, or good habitat?

Thanks, Mike

RE: Sirens and Amphiumas

for Amphiumas I think I would try ditches in undeveloped areas in the Bootheel area and maybe use crayfish for bait, but you probably know more than I do about their habits.
