Need ID on this garden toad

The photo was taken August 2. I had been seeing him in the same garden area for a few days. Can you tell me what kind of toad he is? He's not in my Field Guide that I can tell. Seems close to American Toad and we did have one singing away in Spring. Please inform. Thanks!

I took another photo of two little frogs/toads? in July that were in the bottom of my flower pots on the deck - one in each looking at each other - so cute! If anybody can tell me what they are, that would be a real treat!

RE: Need ID on this garden toad

Your toad is a Woodhouse's toad, Bufo woodhousii. Very similar to the American toad, but Woodhouse's toads have more than 2 warts in some of the larger dark spots on their backs, whereas American toads only have one or two warts in their dark spots.

The guys in the flower pots aren't very visible, but from what I can see they look like grey treefrogs, either Hyla chrysocelis or Hyla versicolor.
