| After several inches of rain the last few days we decided to check a glade we had not been to all year. As in previous years many of the rocks were flipped and not put back in place. This happens at this spot every year it seems. We found several toads and skinks but few snakes.
One midland brown snake under a rock and a 26 inch speckled kingsnake on the crawl. We also saw the same kingsnake about an hour later just a few yards away. It disappeared under a very small rock that had a hole under it. I saw the snake go down the hole but it was an extremely small hole for a snake that size!
Also found an 11 inch speckled kingsnake at another location last week that I assume was this years hatch. |
