First Hog-nose on Property

Posted by Gary2sons_MO (My Page) on

Checked our tin and boards this evening and only found two ring-necks and a ribbon snake plus an adult hog-nose. The hog was stretched out with its head up. One of my sons yelled out water snake until he saw the head. I had always thought we would someday find one here where we live. We have checked this area many times over the last five years.

This alone shows how difficult they can be to find. We have found 4 this year for our best ever for hogs. Some years we find none!

Congrats Gary! Its amazing how invisible those critters can make themselves in an area because of their habits.
