| They're out and on the move today.
My local walk produced:
13 Eastern Yellowbelly Racers (12 adults, 1 juvenile)
10 Intergrade Eastern/Red-Sided Garter Snakes
2 Western Ribbon Snakes
1 Prairie Ringneck Snake
1 large adult Red Milk Snake that looked more like an Eastern Milk Snake (I'm pretty sure its the same one Dan Wylie found on an April night here in 04)
1 Northern Redbelly Snake (Red phase).
All were in the open on the crawl except the Red Milk. All were spotted on foot except the Redbelly Snake which I spotted from a moving vehicle and got out put my flashers on and rescued from the road.
I have to think as much as things are still moving here, they'll be moving at Snake Road for anyone heading down there this weekend. |
